Driving to Oregon
Today is our day to get up to Eugene and without any gigs tonight we were in no hurry. after a fantastic at kellen's place we went to pick up Jonathan and head up I-5 or the 5 as you so cal folk like to say.
At the beginning of the tour we named our 2004 ford econoline van Bruce. it seemed like a fitting name of a van of his size. Max started calling it Brutus - which is a good nick name indeed. Jason and i have taken turns driving the van. we have the cleanest driving records.
in other news - jonathan "found" my keys in his bag. im not sure how they wound up there but at least they are back. i knew they were close by!
once we got into oregon we threw on Dave Matthews Band live at Piedmont Park in the van. we set Jonathan's laptop between the front seats and bumped the audio threw the car speakers.
i hope to see a day where my music starts to go places. it might take a while and i have a while to give so we shall see. its an interesting postion to be in - an unknown band. so many out there - but i think the songs and musicianship are unique enough - at least i hope they are. i love this band and i hope to keep this group of guys together. the add of jonathan on drums has really taken the music to a new level and i think jason and kellen and i are all learning to work with each other musically more and more everyday even though we have been playing together for years. though max and eric are completely different musicians though add perfectly to the band.
we have been having people listening every night and not once have we felt like we were playing a worthless gig. for right now we are cool for playing for 50 people at a time.
